Our administrative team supports the Membership, Martis Camp Club, Martis Camp Community Association and Martis Camp Foundation. From Accounting to Payroll to Human Resources, Ambassadors in this department keep operations running smoothly and efficiently, every day of the year.
The Beach Shack
The Beach Shack extends the Martis Camp Member experience to the shore of Lake Tahoe. From May to September, Ambassadors here assist with valet operations, provide food and beverage service, help with towels and chaise lounges, and facilitate the use of kayaks and paddleboards – all in one day!
From answering incoming calls to greeting Members at the concierge desk, a friendly and attentive demeanor is vital to Concierge Ambassadors. The team assists with dining and event reservations, manages mail service, shares knowledge of the local area and answers every question about life at Martis Camp.
Family Barn Ambassadors share varied responsibilities that change with the season. Summer brings kids camps, fishing, Folk School classes in the Art Loft and concerts in the amphitheater. Winter brings holiday events, ski and sled check-out, movies in the theater and indoor activities that make the Family Barn a cold-weather escape.
The Fitness studio at the Camp Lodge includes a weight room with exercise equipment, classroom for yoga, Pilates and cycling, and heated outdoor lap pool with soaking tubs. Ambassadors attend to Members and guests using the facility and, if qualified, may also provide personal training and fitness evaluation services.
| Food & Beverage|
Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive service is the focus of every Ambassador working in Food & Beverage, in front- and back-of-the-house positions. Venues include the Bar & Bistro, Camp Lodge fine dining rooms, Family Barn soda fountain, Lookout Lodge dining, Martis Perk and The Camp Kitchen food truck, with additional weddings and special events.
From May through October, our Golf Operations team provides an exceptional golf experience to every Member and guest who plays our Fazio course. Golf Ambassadors enjoy working outside for most of each day while assisting with carts, clubs, camps, clinics and lessons. Those who are qualified also may work as caddies or golf professionals.
Greens & Grounds
Our Greens & Grounds team maintains and protects our pristine mountain setting. In spring and summer, Ambassadors manage forest health to protect from wildfire, prepare the golf course each day, and tend to community trails and landscaping. In fall and winter, they clear snow from roads and walkways, and groom our trail network for snowshoeing and Nordic skiing.
Housekeeping Ambassadors maintain the impeccable standards of Martis Camp at every amenity and support the needs of other departments including Food & Beverage. Their attention to detail is evident in every sparkling surface, clean floor, rolled hand towel and perfectly placed throw pillow. Although they often work behind the scenes, their diligence is up front and on display every day, everywhere.
At the Camp Lodge, Members enjoy the accommodating atmosphere of our Men’s and Ladies’ lounges and locker rooms. These areas provide a luxurious space where Members can retreat by the fire, soak in the whirlpool, enjoy a cup of tea, shower after a ski day or lounge in a robe and slippers before a spa treatment.
Safety & Security
Our Safety & Security team works from the Gatehouse at the entrance to Martis Camp. Many Ambassadors in this department have previous experience in law enforcement and/or the military. They assist with patrolling the community, managing home security and enforcing the CC&Rs. Safety and security for all Members, guests and Ambassadors is their focus.
| Ski Operations|
Our Ski Operations team works at Lookout Lodge from November through April. Ambassadors relish the winter environment and our proximity to Northstar California. Daily responsibilities include vehicle valet, assistance with equipment storage and valet service, coordination of instruction and lessons, and generally making every Member’s outing a great experience on the mountain.
The Spa & Boutique
The Spa at the Camp Lodge welcomes Members and guests for relaxation and restoration. Treatments include massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and many other services from Ambassadors who are experienced and/or licensed in their specialties. Ambassadors also work at the front desk and spa boutique.
Tennis & Pickleball
Our Tennis and Pickleball Ambassadors work seasonally from May through September, at beautiful outdoor pavilions in the pines. They teach clinics and lessons, host the Club championships, conduct tennis camps for kids, and promote fun play and camaraderie among Members and guests.
Our Transportation team is responsible for helping Members and guests get safely to and from their Martis Camp homes. They manage a small fleet of vehicles and provide private car service to and from local airports. They also drive our community ski shuttles and may be called on to provide shuttle service for summer camps and off-site events.
